Manille est située sur la rive orientale de la baie de Manille et la rivière Pasig traverse la ville en son milieu permettant aux eaux de la baie de la lagune (Laguna Bay), au sud de Manille, de rejoindre la mer. La ville a une population de 1.652.171 habbitants selon le recensement de 2010, c'est ainsi la ville la plus densément peuplée au monde. La grande région métropolitaine de Manille est la cinquième agglomération urbaine la plus peuplée au monde, avec une population estimée à 21.951.000 habbitants.

Manila is located on the eastern shore of Manila Bay and the Pasig River bisects the city in the middle and allows the waters of Laguna Bay, in the south of Manila, to reach the sea. The city has a total population of 1,652,171 according to the 2010 census; it is the most densely populated city in the world. The greater Metro Manila area is the fifth-most populous in the world with an estimated population of 21,951,000.
